you feel the bark against your skin as you grip the branches of the tree. looking up, you wonder if the higher branches can hold your weight. you feel a bit dizzy. carefully, you eye a ripe fig hanging nearby.
I am a collectorpeople spend a lot of money collecting things. they spend a lot of time and energy in making sure things stay packaged, clean and sterile and untouched. this has always perplexed me. this placing of an object's monetary value over it's purpose as an object. it makes me a bit sad. I collect things. an extension of my documentation obsession, no doubt.
I collect dinosaur toys and bread tags (occlupnaids!) I collect pokemon things, I collect pigeons (of course) i collect litter. i collect information, photos. certainly, this passion for collection is connected to my autism. I find a sort of comfort in it in a way, it is a way to catagorise this world around me. it gives me security. it makes me feel in control.
